Born in Ulft in 1955. She moved to Hoofddorp (Haarlemmermeer) at a young age, where she grew up. At the age of 50, she moved from Haarlemmermeer to Leidschendam.

Marijke enjoyed drawing from a young age, and this did not change later on. However, she did not really start painting until much later.

In 2019, she took part in a workshop “Painting with acrylic paint on canvas” and was enthusiastic. How much  she would have liked to continue under supervision at that time, but Corona put a stop to her plans. But this was the starting signal to start painting autodidactically at home. Many paintings were created, both with acrylic paint and oil paint.

When she retired in 2022, Marijke returned to the Achterhoek, where she and her husband live very happily today and where Marijke spends a lot of time with her great hobby.
