Henk Bekkers
Henk Bekkers is mainly inspired by the immediate surroundings and nature around Bredevoort. He often first captures this in sketches and photos, in order to work it out later in an abstract, expressive way, for example in watercolor, acrylic, on canvas or as sculptures.
Sometimes this happens quickly, just a few days if the feeling is good. Sometimes he is less successful. Then it can take 3-4 weeks. The sculptures also arise from the sketches
The materials he uses for this are: old zinc, wood (ash, acacia, oak) or a combination of these, as well as all kinds of soapstone. He is currently also arranging compositions of used materials into a new autonomous image; so-called assemblage art.
This exhibition shows a selection of his sculptures. If you are interested in the paintings, graphics and sculptures, you are always welcome in the studio at Bastionstraat 4 in Bredevoort.
